Hi {{contact.first_name}}, September on the Nature Coast is the tail end of the wet season. The heat is still here, the afternoon storms still stack up over the Gulf, and the lovebugs are back for their fall run. But the mornings are just starting to hint at what is coming, and the early light off the water is worth every early alarm. Get the kickstand up early, keep one eye on the radar, and September hands you some of the greenest, quietest miles of the year before season turns.
Run US-19 north out of Spring Hill through Homosassa and into Crystal River, then turn west on Fort Island Trail. The road leaves town and opens into nine straight miles across the salt marsh and coastal flats, sabal palms on both sides and the smell of the Gulf getting stronger the whole way, until it dead ends at Fort Island Gulf Beach with the water right in front of you. Time it for a weekday sunrise and you may have the whole run to yourself.
Park at the beach, let the bike tick and cool, and watch the pelicans work the shallows before the heat climbs. Roll it back the way you came, and if you have time, drop into the Three Sisters Springs side of town for shade and cold spring water before you point it home ahead of the afternoon build.
For a longer loop, take the Suncoast Parkway north to Brooksville and thread the two lanes through Nobleton and Istachatta along the Withlacoochee, where the Croom country stays shaded and low traffic. If you want the salt air instead, run Cortez Boulevard west toward Pine Island and Bayport, watch the sun sit low over the Gulf, and work the coastal roads back. Beat the heat, be off the road before the storms build, and both stay quiet.
September is peak hurricane season and peak lovebug season at the same time. Respect both and the riding stays good.
The local chapter is where Nature Coast riders post weekend miles, call out fresh sand and storm debris from Ozello to the forest, and share the shots worth putting your helmet on for. Post where you rode this month and tag us. It is your scene, run by riders who actually ride these roads.
You are on this list because you entered, which means you are already in the running for 20,000 dollars toward any motorcycle you want, drawn December 10. Got a buddy who would want a shot? The entry page is open and free.

A car turning left across your lane on US-19. Sand on a coastal corner. A distracted driver who never saw you. If you ever go down, you want a lawyer who actually rides these roads and knows your bike has no PIP to fall back on.
